Nagisa´s mom is completely insane! I kinda thought when the random assassin showed up "You know what, go ahead, Nagisa would be better off with her gone". This also recontextualizes how the other kids occasionally act/talk about Nagisa and slightly poking fun at him for being kinda girly/less masculine. Like they don´t know, but it must suck for him to hear that since his mom basically wanted a girl and forced him to have long hair and look more "girly"
