Thank you for reacting to this (and letting me watch it with you, lol) This musical was on Broadway in 2011 with Jeremy (I'm pretty sure it was right after he did Newsies), and it was doing well, but after only 4 weeks, it was closed. It was a cult favorite, though, especially among Jeremy fans. (There is so many who use Clyde for fan edits or art with Varian) For this, they were originally supposed to get both the OG Bonnie and Clyde, but Laura was facing some backlash at the time due to her lack of vaccination, so they replaced her with Frances. To be honest, I really liked Frances in the part and think she did just as well as Laura. Also, Jeremy was so good, especially when you realize he only had 3 days of rehearsal. Jeremy has chemistry with everyone he works with, I swear. I've seen the OG in a slime on YouTube, and I couldn't help but compare the two. Jeremy seems so much more mature in this version than the OG, which makes sense since they were 10 years apart. Still, there is more grit in his voice, which I liked. There were also some things regarding staging and sets that I preferred in the OG over this like they had an actual car that they used. Blanche gave me Galinda vibes. She was so much fun. I like how they showed the depression and why Bonnie and Clyde were deemed as heroes.
