Tashigi has no relation to Zoro's childhood friend. She just happened to be very closely resembling Kuina & also a female swordsman who happened to be a sword geek. As you recall Kuina wanted to be the greatest swordsman and Tashigi wants to liberate all the greatest swords from the hands of pirates & others evil doers.
