2023-12-04 12:02:37 +0000 UTCI love how much you love Nick! I feel the same way, haha. He’s definitely my favorite character. The skip-over everyone has of Nick bugging Boston’s car is hilarious. I think it has just a lot to do with the fact that Nick isn’t being malicious with it, it’s creepy, but he doesn’t mean it to be, haha. Plus he’s just so sweet and cute, it’s hard to not love him. I do also really love Sand though, and as you saw from this episode, we finally start getting more of him which brings out his character better. Something I just love about this show is the idea of “innocence”. Because so many shows try to play into this no-nothing, virginal, innocent character type. But then you have Mew, who even as virgin is self-aware, kinda strict with his boundaries (though that is kinda going away a bit), wise, and observant. Then you also have Nick who should probably have a ‘naive/innocent’ sign over his head who is still very sexual and outgoing. So they really have this virgin character who is not naive at all, and then a naive/innocent character who is very sexual. It really pushes against that “virgin” or “innocent/naive” stereotype a lot of characters fall into. Sand and Ray’s eye contact in this show is crazy, haha. Haha! I love how much you hate Top. I felt the same exact way! I don’t know how people have any sort of sympathy for him at this point. I really liked the scenes where Mew was picking up on things with Top. It makes me sad that Mew lost his virginity to Top. Whether or not Top actually likes Mew now or not, Mew should have been able to make that decision after knowing everything. It really sucks. I think Boston is a great character! He’s a terrible person and so frustrating, but as character, he’s so good. I love that you caught Boston pushing Nick so hard. So many people didn’t and it really tells a lot I feel like. The fact that he can treat Nick so physically aggressive as well and Nick is STILL going after him. It just makes me feel for Nick soooo much. A little fun fact about Thai names. As you’ve probably noticed, they are mostly English words. These are all just ‘nicknames’. In episode 1, we hear the professor call Ray ‘Pakon’, which is his real name. Top is also called ‘Tanin’ and Mew called ‘Witsarut’ at one point as well. Names are usually quite long in Thailand, so when a kid is very young they are usually given a nickname that they go by most of their lives, besides for government papers, etc. So ‘Sand’ is the nickname his mom gave him when he was young. For a real example, the actor who plays Sand’s name is Kanaphan Puitrakul, but you will see him referred to by ‘First’ pretty much everywhere besides in credits. The volume sounds good btw!
