I stand by my statement when I say that the writers just needed to give the audience a reason to be ok with the fact that Mia cheated on Alison. Through their relationship it shows Alison truly caring for Mia and adapting to things that Mia would be uncomfortable with. Ex: the robe scene, Alison getting mia a fully covered bday outfit, suggesting a mani/pedi instead of a massage, etc. This seemed so out of character for her to just out of the blue do that. It made it very obvious that the writers were trying to push Mia and Carli to be a thing and I didn't like that.
