Question for all my techies out there!!
Added 2023-08-08 23:45:29 +0000 UTCI'm looking to buy an external hard drive that can hold 3 TB or higher. I want the best of the best! Something that isn't going to break on me. I previous have purchased WD hard drives and out of the 5 I've had 2 of them die on me in less than a year. Send me your suggestions please!! TIA

2023-08-09 22:49:53 +0000 UTCThanks for the info! My friend recommended Seagate, so I just got a 5 TB one. My brother said it might die fats because I always unplug it. Idk if that actually matters or not, but I suppose I will leave this one plugged into the computer and not move it going forward lol

I had a bad western digital too, but I found out if you get the ones that especially say portable they may be a tad slower but much more durable. I have 2 seagate 2 WD and 2 Toshiba ranging in age from 15 years to 6 years and they are all still working fine. I also found that if the size is really high it can go out quicker so I wouldn’t go bigger than 5TB
