I love that we are getting so much from so many characters that weren't a huge deal in the books! It must be so fun for Alice to build up all of these different worlds around the people she created in addition to seeing it come to life!

Aha ok! I thought Harry and Ben were in Charlie's grade too for some reason lol

On the volume 4 stuff - pretty sure they just took the dinner scene from the second chapter and moved it forward. They didn’t skip ahead to the part in volume 4, they just changed at what point in the timeline the dinner scene happens. Definitely wouldn’t recommend reading any of volume 4 if you don’t want to be spoiled for season 3, since there’s almost no way the first chapter of volume 4 won’t be covered in season 3. It has to be. And DO NOT read Solitaire yet, that takes midway through Volume 4. The only safe novels of Alice to read are probably Loveless and I was Born for This. Everything else has potential spoilers (maybe not Radio Silence, but better safe than sorry).

Ah, It´s been a while since I´ve read Volume 4, but if Solitaire is in January I have a vague idea, yeah... a lot of stuff happens between now and then lol. I´m kinda curious if they will include Solitaire stuff in HS season 3, or if perhaps we will get a spin off show or movie to cover that. I really love Tori and think it would be fun to get this, especially with the actress we already know for her.

Don't read Solitaire yet! Lol. It happens I think in January (?), a lot happens between the end of this season and Solitaire. And I think at this point, it would just kinda suck to skip ahead of things I'm sure they will cover in great detail in season 3.

I love the idea of the school faculty just being a little queer friendgroup. Although, how can homophobic pricks like Harry even exist there when (exaggerated) half of the teachers are gay lol. Tori is one year older than Charlie, I think? So she should be in year 11, same as Nick and Elle. She also attends the girls school, since we saw her a few times in her school uniform when she rode the bus with Charlie. So it´s fine for her to be at prom, although given that she isn´t really a very extroverted person I wonder why she decided to attend in the first place. Also, since they changed Mr. Farouk to be a teacher at the boys school, instead of being at the girls school I assume they might plan to give the teachers a bit more and make it easier with both of them working at the same place. I would also love to include Coach Singh as a friend within that. Darcy´s mom sucks! Why can´t some parents just do the "unconditional love" thing that they are supposed to be doing? I totally think Imogen might discover some things. It would make sense, If I remember correctly Sahar didn´t get a ton in the books either, she was just a side friend next to the main friendgroup. Even Tao and Elle didn´t get that much in the books, since it´s very focused on Nick and Charlie´s journey. So now mixing in Imogen with Sahar´s storyline is a good idea to give both of them a direction to go into. Tao and Nick bonding is great! I already loved how they talked about Charlie in season 1. Tao was still kinda on the fence about Nick this season, but I think he has really opened up to him by now. Honestly, I was slightly worried how Joe would do this season with this subject matter, this is still his first role after all and Charlie is going in a very different direction than season 1, but he did so well! Kit as well, all their emotions during that conversation near the end were so good. Also how Charlie initially tried to make himself small and kinda retreated into himself trying to avoid that topic and conversation. Nick handled that whole situation so well! He is so considerate and really careful how he phrases things. He clearly internally knows that Charlie has an eating disorder, but he still only calls it "eating thing" when addressing it to Charlie, probably to not make him feel bad about it. He also doesn´t ask Charlie to never cut himself again, something that Charlie can´t promise, if he gets in that mindset it could easily happen. So instead he asks that Charlie will come to him and be open with him about how he feels. I´m very conflicted on what both of them took away from that conversation. It feels like they aren´t quite on the same page on what all of that means going forward. Nick is clearly terrified and has no idea how to deal with this and help Charlie. Meanwhile, Charlie on his way home seems to be feeling great. And not that worried about these problems, instead he is just thinking about how amazing his boyfriend is and how much he loves him. I can´t comment on if he send it or not, since I´ve read it. But we will see I guess. But by the way, we are now somewhere in Volume 4. So you can safely read the first 3 Volumes without getting spoiled. The third volume ends after the Paris Trip. So you could go a bit into volume 4 too. Personally I haven´t read Solitaire myself yet, so take my opinion with a grain of salt and maybe wait on Ophelia´s opinion. But I think at the point we are with the show now you might be more or less ok with reading as far as the show is and then go into Solitaire. Since they have known about season 3 for atleast a year I really hope they already went ahead and planned for it while doing season 2, so perhaps the wait won´t be that long. I don´t think I could choose between season 1 and 2. I mean, how do you compare perfection against perfection?

Beny

Tori is a year older! She is in the same year as Nick, Tara, Darcy, Elle, Harry, and Ben. Charlie, Isaac, and Tao are a year younger than everyone else.
