An exclusive update for Pie Patrons about future releases~

Hello to all my Pie Patrons, thank you for your wonderful support over all these years. After lots of hard work and thought, I've finally decided to release Book II as a free webcomic on a page-by-page basis, most likely bi-weekly, starting in October. In thanks for your continued patronage, I will be releasing all of Chapter 2 exclusively for Pie Patrons by August 1st. Future drafts and secret panels will also be released here as I continue along the story's process. For now, here are some details on what's to come.

It was my dream to release Horrortale as an officially complete comic book once all the chapters were completed. But this approach is immensely more challenging than before. Hearing your comments and encouragement was the secret ingredient to having the comic completed, and although I'm very proud of what's been completed thus far, I fear the comic is hurting without the community input. Horrortale was so enjoyable to create thanks to an encouraging audience. Doing it alone is just not the same.

One reason why I hoped to release the entire book was to help the pacing of the story. Certain moments won’t translate well if I release a single page at a time. My work-around is to make extra large pages each release, similar to the style Horrortale used to take when it first started. It’s not the same as taking it in all at once, but I don’t think it’s any less effective than the telling of Book I.

So, starting August 1st (edit from October 1st), I will begin posting the pages I’ve completed thus far for all to enjoy on Deviantart and Tumblr. I cannot guanratee that the entire book will be released this way, but for now, this is just to get the ball rolling.

Part of me had hoped that I could sell the book for a little profit down the line, but honestly, I’ve always felt grateful to Toby Fox letting me create this comic based on his work. I think I’m more at peace with the idea of releasing it for free. Ultimately though, selling Undertale doujinshi is 100% allowed, so it’s possible I’ll compile and sell a completed book once the story’s completed. In the meantime, it is your support that has given Book II a chance to exist in the first place. You have my deepest thanks. It’s been so much fun making this story for you.
