I loved this portrayal too and to know that it's still going strong with a season 4 renewal is awesome! I can't believe I have never even heard of this. I also liked that Jonathan wasn't jealous and was just relieved to know that his actually abilities where at play instead of powers, it was sweet!

2023-06-26 12:37:44 +0000 UTCoh yay i’m so happy you loved this and that it was one of your favorites of all the shows you started. we will have to watch more. i’ve never been a big dc fan either. i’m not really a superhero person in general but i watched this for tyler hoechlin and fell in love. superman may be a beloved character but a lot of people also like to say he’s a boring character because he’s so morally upstanding and they tend to prefer more grey characters. but i am completely in love with this portrayal and this show overall. it’s still currently airing and was just renewed for a season 4 and it’s still sooo good. season 3 has been my favorite season so far but season 1 is a close second. the visuals really are stunning! there’s so many gorgeous shots in this episode that took my breath away. i did love the twist of jordan having powers when they all thought it would be jonathan and that they didn’t make us wait for the reveal. i also love just how easily jonathan accepted it. the lack of jealousy was really refreshing. jonathan is probably my favorite character outside of clark. he’s such a good brother and i love brotherly relationships. lois is pretty amazing too. this family is just everything to me.

I´m not convinced that Jonathan has no powers yet, maybe it´s just still dormant, or they will split the powers between the brothers. I was almost expecting Jordan to become an antagonist, since he is the angsty teen. Glad that´s not happening so far. And thank god they didn´t drag out the reveal about Clark being Superman for a while. It´s way more fun with the kids knowing almost immediately.

But based on what you said at the beginning, you never watched Smallville, right? It´s great! I need to put that on my list for you lol. Even though 10 seasons is such a big commitment. I LOVE Smallville.
