All these things come up, like the comics & how much they matter to Mikey, and his feelings for Brian, and Ben reacts in totally completely different ways to them than David did. Watching your reactions to s1 and how through the season you just like David less and less (same for me the first time I watched it too), I was so excited to see you get to Ben. He's just so much better.

2023-06-09 18:04:56 +0000 UTClove your rainbow dick pipe lol you and your brother sharing it is my favorite thing ever i agree that it was weird that the brian/ben hookup didn’t come up til this episode but i still thoroughly enjoyed it. they linked it to the white party so it kinda made sense and it was really important to finally put michael’s complicated feelings for brian to bed and for ben and him to move forward with that behind them. those feelings were bound to show up again since they were never really resolved when he was with david. i think this is the first time we’ve ever seen michael acknowledge them with actual words though. it was implied or everyone else just kinda talked about how he felt before but this time he said it aloud and i love the way ben handled things. he didn’t belittle his feelings or get upset about them, he just acknowledged them and pointed out that it doesn’t mean that they don’t get to love each other as well. i think the brian and michael scene at the comic shop was also important. i kinda cringed while watching but it was needed. brian knows about the feelings and why he was really jealous so he had to do something about it before michael sabotaged things with someone else. someone great. over a fuck. i think he knew michael wouldn’t go through with it so he called his bluff. to go through with it, michael would have to acknowledge that a quick fuck against the wall is all he would get and it’s just not worth it. like brian is never going to want him in the same way and it’s something he has to deal with so he can move forward. the symbolism of brian walking out the door after he and ben hugged was huge. he’s finally ready to fully move on.
