2024-01-08 03:12:53 +0000 UTCThe problem with people like Brian is that they are good people who do shitty things. They are infuriating but when it hits the fan, they are there. I have friends that people question me why I am still friends with them, but I have seen the true friend they are, and therefore they often get a pass from me when others think they don't deserve it. I love Emmett's moral compass. Many may judge him for his life choices but he has some standards which he sticks by.

2023-05-16 13:14:47 +0000 UTCi watched this show a few years after it ended so i don’t know what the initial response from viewers or critics was but i always take this episode but especially that opening scene to be about them addressing any criticism people had with these characters being promiscuous and “stereotypes” instead of being nice and “pure” like the characters on gay as blazes. the emmett storyline in this one is a personal fave! “i may be a slut but at least i’m an honest slut” you go baby! i personally probably would have stayed lol but still proud of him for not wanting to be around fake people. people claiming to be above a certain way of life and pretending to be something they aren’t. just like howard bellweather. the hypocrisy was strong in this one. the title was very apt. the aftereffects of the bashing on justin are hard to watch but it is nice to see him working on overcoming them. also i just love that this arc isn’t a one and done. it’s still actively affecting his day to day life and we get to see it all play out. proud of him for wanting to walk back to the loft alone. also him nudging brian to accept the award and go hang out with michael was nice to see. that ending scene with michael and brian was adorable. i have my issues with parts of their friendship but i love when they have these sweet moments. i do think it’s natural for friends to drift apart when they have other things going on and like debbie says to him, brian does have a life of his own that doesn’t always include him and michael needs to understand that. just like brian needed to in season 1 when michael started dating david. it can’t always be the brian and mikey show. but i get he missed him and brian did eventually show up for him.
