Those are all very good points because it is very clear that Reynolds cares about George and means well. I'm sure it was also really terrifying to see what was being done to George and not be able to do anything about it.

2023-05-16 13:16:47 +0000 UTCI respected Reynolds in this episode, because he has been with George more than anyone, and obviously cares for him but like it would be treason to go against the kings command and the king wanted extreme doctor shit. But he does push on multiple occasions, and he didn't go to Charlotte because George wouldn't have wanted that, and he doesn't really know her like that. Him saying send the letter is to me half him knowing she literally cannot leave the country, he has been with the king long enough to know more of the laws than Brimsley, and him also acknowledging that he doesn't know is George is going to get better anytime soon and if Charlotte has the slightest chance of leaving and finding happiness George in his right mind would want that. At least that was my interpretation i could be wrong hahaha
