2023-03-18 22:59:30 +0000 UTCRoot Cause- Such a fantastic episode! And I'm so happy that you're intrigued by who Root is. She's most certainly something. Remember the name, Root. :) I love how this mysterious hacker has the politician who hired her killed in the end and makes it appear that he committed suicide too. I also love the moment between her and Finch in the end as well, and that she lets Finch know she knows who he is, and how she is able to hack into his computers both at the library and at their secret headquarters. Absolutely brilliant! As for the main storyline with Root and the politician framing this poor guy for the murder of a congressman, making him a patsy, and then trying to kill him... I really love it, and it's a storyline I didn't see coming. What a great twist! I really feel so bad for him and his family. Thank goodness for Finch for him buying up a company who will hire him soon and give him a good job. One of my absolute favorite moments within this episode... I love the brief moment between Reese and the man he's trying to save down inside the subway tunnel where they're trying to hide out from Root and her hired hitman, when Reese shares with this good man that he truly does understand what he is currently going through upon him fearing that his wife will forever see him as nothing more than a killer. Because Reese does understand. We find out in this moment that Reese's former girlfriend, Jessica, whom he loved very deeply, had learned that he too was a killer much like this innocent man's wife sadly learns and briefly comes to believe about him, until the ending when Reese and Finch are able to clear his name. I love how sympathetic and kind Reese is to this good man, and how he tries to comfort him. Then, Reese sadly states that unfortunately for his former girlfriend, the truth about him being a killer is actually true. Giving us viewers another reminder that Reese sadly truly still sees himself as nothing more than a killer and monster. Quite an impactful moment for our hero. A hero who is truly a hero in spite of his dark past, and who sadly cannot believe himself to be anything more than a monster. This breaks my heart, and yet I love it!! I love John Reese!! Also... The fight scene between Reese and the hired killer in the bathroom is absolutely amazing, especially when Reese suddenly rips the hands dryer off the wall and bashes it over the killer's head to render him unconscious. Fantastic! And lastly... I really love that this episode brings Zoe Morgan back in too. I really love her from her first episode titled... The Fix, but this episode for her is just as good and I really love her character a lot. And I love her banter with Reese. Zoe is just a great addition to this episode! :) Oh... And if in case you missed this detail... Throughout this episode, we often see a closeup on Root's hands whenever she's shown typing on her keyboard, showing us that she is wearing black nail polish on her fingernails. And earlier on in the episode when Zoe first makes her appearance as she is talking with Finch inside the library, we also see a brief closeup on her hands too, showing us that she is not wearing black nail polish. Indicating to us that Zoe Morgan is definitely not Root. I have to admit that I too briefly thought for a moment that Zoe might be Root because both women's hairstyles are very similar, at least from the back. Most viewers think that Zoe could be Root, and I suspect that is the point. A misdirect to get us to believe in this possibility for a moment, in order to help heighten the mystery of our mysterious hacker. So, I really appreciate this small detail of the black nail polish that sets these women apart. Thank you again, Jessie! I really enjoyed your reaction, and I can't wait for more! Until next time...
