::Scribbles down important names on my list::: OK! Thank you so much for explaining. That makes me feel a lot better, I thought it was supposed to be blatantly obvious and I was very disappointed in myself for missing it lol I'm glad I was able to piece some of it together before stopping my reaction though!

Ok this one will be slightly long-ish comment :) Yes this blond girl was actually meant to look a lot like Cirilla this time. For that family resemblance ;) Yes so this episode is mightily confusing but also clarifies some bits. So yeah big 'revealing feast'. Calanthe - Ciri's grandma. Eist - Ciri's step-grandpa. Pavetta - Ciri's mother. Duny - her father. Moussack - the court mage who protected castle in episode 1. Because Pavetta married Duny and could not do that all political union thing they were all hoping for with Eist's nephew, Calanthe married Eist instead to unite the kingdoms :) Which was fine. As they were actually very much into each other, but Calanthe just wanted a new man, and not new husband initially ;) Yes we were actually following 3 different timelines. You got it. Cir's timeline is the most 'present'. Fringilla the sorceress from Yen's school (that Yen stole the assignment from ;)) did indeed got sent to Nilfgard instead and now is doing such lovely tricks as doing some light 'entrails-reading' because tea-leaves are just not that bloody. Geralt's timeline just arrived to Pavetta (Ciri's mother) being pregnant with her about 15 years prior. And being now promised Ciri by Destiny as a Law of Surprise. Yen's timeline started about 50 years before 'present' and now caught up to Geralt's timeline. (3 decades of her being at court mentioned in the carriage ride) There were few clues in the past episodes on that timeline mix. In episode 1 Mousesack mentioned "Curse of Black Sun" and killing of the girls by Stregobor as occurring 'decades' prior. Which is what we see in Geralt's timeline with Renfri. In episode 3 the king Foltest for whom Geralt tries to save the Striga is also shown as a very young blonde boy with his sister and mother at ceremony in Yen's timeline. Tissaia (Yen's mentor) mentioned to Yen 'Princess' Calanthe (Ciri's grandmother). Renfri also mentioned Queen Calanthe winning her first battle while we see her losing her last one in the episode in Ciri's timeline. As for the baby's death you got it. The blade passed through Yen shoulder and pierced baby. This is why the baby died. Jaskier is a bard, basically travelling singer/stroryteller in medieval times. He loves hanging with Geralt as this gives him best stories :) Actually you know another bard in the shows you react to! While in D&D bard is of course the player class it is also a vocation. So Scanlan in Vox Machina is also a bard. Singing for coin and sleeping with wenches ;) All that good stuff. This was my favorite episode of the season. So many good character bits. I loved getting more of Calanthe and Eist. Jaskier is always a good fun. And Geralt's 'Fuck!' at realizing he just got a Child of Surprise out of this party is epic.
