"You were a surprise, you were never the plan, plans change" since Ricky and Gina were never the plan! They became the plan after Homecoming, but it wasn´t their intial plan for the show. And I just want to comment a bit on EJ and the future of the show. The statements they showed makes it sound like they definitely have plans for those characters past high school. Which would be great! Especially once more characters than just EJ graduated they could build a sideplot, similarly to Nini´s sideplot at the music school in season 2. I´m thinking like the New York storylines in glee after most of the cast graduated, to be fair that wasn´t the best execution of the concept, but it could work. And I would just love to explore these characters in a more mature setting, and when they themself matured too. So if they get to 7 seasons I´m all for that. Now to EJ specifically. That´s another reason why I hate what they did to him. He is in such a weird spot now that I have no idea what to do with him! He has his parental issues, and that´s it. They kinda ruined every relationship, romantic or platonic, he had. I guess I would like the friendship with Ricky to somehow continue. Or him and Gina going back to being best friends, seriously their dynamic before they became a couple was amazing! But I don´t know if we got time for any of that in season 4, especially with part of season 4 being taken away by all the cameos and returning actors from the movies.
