Okay, ONE more (Deathmatch) question for you!
Added 2023-06-25 13:11:39 +0000 UTCIt seems like most people are very keen to have the series updated to Combat Patrols, but herein lies a bit of a problem!
There aren't currently Combat Patrol boxes for Tzeentch Daemons, Slaanesh Daemons, or Nurgle Daemons. Their Vanguard equivalent boxes for AOS have models that don't have rules for 40k (unlike the old Start Collecting boxes which could be used for both.)
An option I'd thought of was to maybe double up the box contents of Start Collectig boxes to vaguely match the points value of Combat Patrols boxes, but the new Combat Patrol boxes also have their own unique rules. These would have to be house rules for the missing armies for the tournament, so maybe not such a great option.
Alternatively, I thought we could possibly replace armies with similarly themed Combat Patrol boxes:
Nurgle Daemons replaced with Death Guard (very similar play style)
Tzeentch Daemons replaced with Chaos Daemons (Khorne) Combat Patrol (quite different, but the only Combat Patrol Daemon army)
Slaanesh Daemons replaced with Chaos Space Marines, painted as Emperor's Children (thematically similar, different play style)
What do you think? Guide me, oh wise and beautiful and smart and clever and lovely Patreon supporters...

Could you use 10th edition and Boarding Action rules, since they’re designed for 500 point games with more list building freedom? (I’ve no idea how many of the start collecting models are available in boarding actions, though)

Could always do a separate one for combat patrol later on for 10th but that's my take. 10th is having some growing pains as is anyway ( death watch shenanigans being the one that leaps immediantly to mond even if they have hot fixed it for now.
