To earn the end game reward of Deer Jerky (which grants you 7 food), you are required to kill a 2nd deer. This can only be achieved if you're following Dan or Chance's love route.
On Dan's route, you will have the opportunity to shoot a deer on Day 6. To do so, you have to go shooting with Dan. As you aim the gun, you will need to focus on the rear sight and then pull the trigger. Doing both of these will cause you to 'accidentally' shoot a deer.
On Chance's route, you will need to make sure you have a chocolate bar before Day 5 begins. During Day 5, you will go skinning dipping. As you do so, a deer will steal your clothes. When it does so, you must choose the option 'I wanna find my clothes'. This will have you catch up to the deer, where you can feed it a chocolate bar, which will set up the deer's demise of chocolate poisoning.
Completing either of these methods will unlock the deer jerky for any consecutive playthrough.
