I think he's just a sad, old, traumatized drunk so he does things the hard and rough way since it's the way life has treated him. That's not to say it's the right way though, it's def messed up lol

Maybe that´s just because I love Denji and Power, but I feel like his teaching method is weird, and he should give them a break at some point. I love how confident Denji and Power were that they could use their smarts to beat him. And them dressing up as "being smart" was funny. Really curious how the Future Devil will look like, and what exactly their powers are.
