I love that they reversed everything because as great as the whole series is, nothing compares to that first season and it was so much fun feeling like we were back in that time!

2022-06-28 17:57:55 +0000 UTCThe two years that passed are from the time Henry ate the apple turnover to when he wakes up on top of the roof after the wedding. Snow and company are in the same timeline as the people in Storybrooke. Fiona's curse just sent them back to the Enchanted Forest. The only part of the timeline that doesn't add up is that it's supposed to be two years from the end of Season 1, even though five years has passed in real time. They also said that Henry is now 14, even though he was around 11 at the end of Season 1. So that means it should be 3 years that have passed instead of 2. In reality, Jared Gilmore was probably 15 or 16 when this episode was filmed. So the Storybrooke timeline has never lined up with real time. However, the whole point is you were wondering what the 2 years was in reference to, and that was the incident with the apple turnover. In this version of the curse, it almost killed Henry, and Emma went 'nuts', so that's why she's been in the psych ward since then.
