Insidious is a great comparison! You're so right in that it feels like the same dark and creepy place. I also agree that I think what they are dealing with is an extremely powerful monster who has the ability to manipulate your every though and how you perceive things, which is the best psychological advantage you can have! I'm debating continuing with Episode 4 or not lol The episodes are so long so it's mentally exhausting, but they're just so good and I want more!! lol

2022-05-27 23:39:52 +0000 UTCthe d&d master is eddie munson played by joseph quinn! for the note in the russian doll, i paused it and read what i could, and it leads me to beleive it is from hopper, or someone trying to convince her it’s from hopper. the letters have a lot of spelling errors, but what i read from it after hop is alive was “he looks ford too date” and “pleez to mhke (mike?)” i couldn’t pause well enough to read the whole letter, but i thought this part of it was interesting too, assuming the date referred to the date they never had 😢 i also felt awful for lucas. it’s hard because you can tell they are growing up and sometimes that means growing apart from people you were once close to. now i hope that this group doesn’t grow apart in the long run (i don’t think the duffer brothers would do that to us lol) but it is an interesting dynamic for the group. the kids are maturing and starting to realize that not everything is working out how they always wanted it to and someone is going to have to make a sacrifice. i totally agree with your comparison to that last seen and freddy! although, my first thought was insidious! it reminded me of the dream like state the guy was in, which then connected me to eleven when she would go to the black void. it makes me think that maybe the monster has a way to put people in the upside down the way eleven can transport herself to the void. and i was thinking maybe since then it would be the monsters world/vision, he could make it look more realistic, taking out the vines and snow like particles floating around. it seems that it would make it so much worse for the victim since it seems so real, and maybe that’s his goal? i loved this episode and can’t wait for more!! i am technically watching this with my dad, and we have only watched the first episode, but i’m very tempted to skip ahead and watch episode 2 with you lol. thank you for this reaction!! seems to be a great season already, i’m so excited! ❤️
