[Early Access!] Why The Lemon Twigs' ‘Everything Harmony’ was my album of the year (2023)

Hey everyone,

My next YouTube video is on my love for the Beatles-sounding band The Lemon Twigs and specifically their incredible album Everything Harmony from 2023 (my album of the year).

If you haven't checked out this band or this record I highly recommend it!

Thanks folks!

E.

YES! This band is so cool! I had never heard of them before but they’re the exact kind of modern music I’ve been trying to find! Thank you for promoting them! I’m gonna try and get ahold of this one on vinyl!

I've listened to a bit of the Fruit Bats! Their song 'When You Love Somebody' is one I played all the time in the early 2010s. I think it was in a movie I watched.

Hi Elliot! Thanks so much for sharing this band with us! I love hearing about new music from modern bands whose influences come from artists I love the most. I agree with you that it can be challenging but definitely worthwhile to find contemporary artists making music today that hit all the right places for those who love what the Beatles (or maybe I should broaden to say 60s pop/rock) brought to the sound of “popular” music. I was born in ‘72 but I grew up listening to 60s and 70s just as much as the contemporary artists of my youth, back in the 80s. I am one of the few from my generation that didn’t care for the hair band craze that hit in the mid 80s so I went alternative/indie from that point forward mixed with my favorites (mainly Beatles) from the 60s/70s. I’m always told I was “born too late”. Anyhow, if you haven’t already, may I recommend you giving Fruit Bats a listen…Eric D. Johnson is one of my absolute favorite music artists for all the reasons you mentioned about the Lemon Twigs in this video. He has been making music since the late nineties/early ‘00s and he still feels like one of the best kept secrets on the indie music scene. How his music hasn’t gotten more attention is still a mystery to me. He’s breaking through a bit now being a member of Bonny Light Horsemen but it’s his original band/song writing with Fruit Bats that is (for me) some of the best music being made in the here and now. Just wanted to share since I am really enjoying your content and we seem to be on the same page about a LOT of things music related. Hopefully you’ll check him out. I am definitely looking forward to giving Lemon Twigs a listen…their tie to Weyes Blood is really cool too! Maybe that’ll be your next interview. Cheers!
