I was on a Podcast!

Hey everyone, for those of you who haven't come across the 'BeatlesEarth' account on Twitter and the corresponding podcast 'Here, There, and Everywhere' I was on an episode (actually it's a two-parter) and you can listen to it here or on Apple Podcasts/Spotify.

Though be aware that it's unedited so it's a lot more stream-of-consciousness and rambly than my videos!

Hope you enjoy!

I definitely started with the Anthology when it was released in 1995, but there were little things, like when I was playing around with a keyboard preloaded with "Yesterday" or when my middle school music teacher mentioned the 145 songwriting formula as being something the Beatles liked to use. I also definitely cite the Beatles as my biggest style influence. After college, I started wearing blazers with t-shirts, and eventually started looking for blazers with high lapels. Before I started cutting my own hair with a razor comb in 2018, I used to say I'd go in when my hair was White Album and leave with my hair closer to Revolver. Yeah, I think 1965-1968 would be a cool period to explore in a film, because it would include John writing "Help!" and "Nowhere Man," the disastrous 1966 tour, the retreat to the studio for Revolver and Sgt. Pepper, the death of Epstein, India, The White Album, and Yellow Sub. The one time I went to London, I listened to Brainwashed at an HMV in November 2002. That title track really struck me at the time as likely to be prescient. I'm not surprised he was a Star Wars fan. I know Paul liked comic books "Magneto and Titanium Man." But my big genre obsession is Star Trek. I wonder if any of them are or were fans. Never heard of this podcast, but it has some pretty cool and surprising guests. I'm listening to Larry Wilmore and trying to compare my impressions of the four Beatles to his! Thanks!
