As I've hinted at in the last few posts, I was asked to help with the latest Angry Video Game Nerd episode. I guess it didn't seem right to make a Shrek Episode without hitting up 3GI, ya know?
I was beyond honored to participate in a Nerd ep. I've been a fan since like... 2007?? I'll never forget when Kyle first introduced me to AVGN in high school. I believe the first ep I saw was Fester's Quest. I was hooked immediately.
As you can see in the vid, I had quite an elaborate segment, but it wasn't always like that. The original plan was just to have a short convo with the Nerd and then to burn him, but I REALLY pushed for the Nerd to go incognito and participate in a procession with the other cultists. James and his team were super open to me really doing whatever the heck I wanted to do, and we devised a plot where the Nerd is able to get into disguise. The person in the disguise? It was none other than 3GI legend Eric Nitschke and 3GI Patron/collaborator Conner Japikse! Conner rode a bus 5 hours to get his ass kicked in my driveway. God bless that kid!
The production wasn't a walk in the park, though. It was cold AF and it got dark super early. Also, there is a world wide pandemic happening right now. That's why we recycled so many people! Check this out:
That's right! I only had 4 people over at most, but we made it look like a buttload of folks. The magic of cinema! Hope you enjoy it! I definitely put everything I have into it. I put some insane hours into this.
I have a ton of funny behind the scenes stuff. I'm going to put together a little reel for yall later this week.
But yeah, that's my big, fat geek project I was working on.
