SHREKFEST IS CANCELLED... jk, read the post

You know what they say...

When corona virus shuts a door, it opens a window... An Internet window... On the computer... Get it? Yep, they say that.

SHREKFEST 2020 WILL BE VIRTUAL

That's right, boys. I haven't made any sort of official announcements yet, but I wanted to let my esteemed patrons know first. I am OGREwhelmingly excited to announced SHREKFEST ONLINE in lieu of a physical celebration this year. All the games, prizes, entertainment and music you expect from Shrekfest, now in the form of a livestream. Who's playing the music and showing weird videos and getting sick in the Onion Eating Contest? You.

A USER-SUBMITTED STREAM (FEAT. YOU)

We will be collecting submissions for several categories - from music videos to short films to contest submissions - and showing them all during a live stream in September.

I'd also like to mention that there is another category for submissions that is not listed on that document as it is for PATRONS ONLY - The BUMPER category. Much like yall made for 3GI TV, I'd like to include 15 sec "palette cleansers" (or bumpers) in between segments. You know, like how adult swim do it.

A formal, public announcement will come soon, and I'll elaborate on this project more here, but I just wanted to post something know to possibly give the Patrons who would be interested in something like this a head start.

 I also want to create a section in the 3GI server for people to work on their submissions. Through Retold and Rebuilt, I definitely learned these kinds of virtual hubs help collaborators share their works in progress and inspire each other. And maybe you can find a fellow artist that can assist with your submission. For example, let's say you are a musician and you want to make a song for Shrekfest, so you team up with an animator in the discord and they make some cool visuals to go with your song. If we all work together, I think we can create some awesome content and have a blast watching it all.
