I hear ya man. I apologize ahead of time cuz I'm know I'm going to be constantly switching things around- Patreon feels most of a fluid thing to me rather than a set in stone sort of deal!

I understand that the way you do the credits is time consuming. But it is would be pretty lame to keep moving the price up on that. I had to up the amount I paid earlier to stay in the credits. Now I'd have to do it again.

Keep in mind I'm not trying to attack you I understand the credits are getting overwhelming but just keep in mind don't charge people more for what they had add new incentives and don't raise unless necessary such as credits

Yea switching seems rough though I enjoy the credits at $5 the reason I'm not a patron for others is because it costs $10+ and being a broke unemployed student it's rough to keep up with my monthly plans

If the scope was extremely small, it could be a regular sideshow on the channel in between pure 3GI vids. Alternatively, what about a 'Video Clip Bounty Board'? Like you'd run small contests for very specific pieces of content you need in 3GI videos you're working on. Like patron B-roll or something. You could do periodic videos showcasing the one you ended up choosing alongside the other ones submitted as a patron exclusive video later.

My gut reaction is to try and find clever ways to sneak patrons in normal videos, rather than make a big Patron show... but I could be wrong... are you familiar with Great: The Show? YouTube sketch show where each sketch is done by a different creator. We could do our own show! "3GI Theater"

All I can say right now, is I'm chomping at the bit to do more patron collabs, but I don't want to promise a monthly spectacle before I know I can deliver! may have to be a once and a while thing... The Halftime Show took 100 hours to edit

Okay I'm kicking around the beginnings of an idea here for Patreon stuff. What about a rank a little higher than the 10 rank that would be like a 'Goof Apprentice'. You could have some kind of monthly video that would be a lightly structured compilation of patron submissions, limited to 30 seconds. Each month would be a new prompt or directive, and a few assets to include or center around, keeping things simple and concise. The uploaded video itself could be structured for re-use, which I think would be fine given that it would be advertised as a monthly patreon content piece. Add ons to this could be a paragraph of feedback from grant himself, or having a time of the month where said patreons come together in a chat to discuss their pieces and whatnot. One of the important tenets of all of it making sure it doesn't spin out into a monthly nightmare project for grant that requires constant custom work.

Definetly loved doing the halftime show.

Yeah honestly I don't mind having my name dropped from credits for the five dollar perk. Your way of doing it looks a lot more time consuming then just scrolling through the list like most people do. You said 1 dollar patrons are still able to participate on the discord and take part in the patron video participation, which I would say are the two most appealing perks. So I'm personally fine with this.

Right on. I'm ALSO toying with the idea of making those perks available to $1 patrons... so there would be no $5 tier, but that may be counterintuitive... I'm so lost in my own head!

I think I've said it before but if special exclusive videos like the ones for $10 patrons last month are available for $5 patrons in turn of not having name in credits, then I think that's a fair trade off

Oh and as far as being featured in the credits, it makes sense that the higher tier patrons ($10+) would get featured in the video credits of a normal 3gi video. As for credits on the patron submitted material videos (eg; halftime video/shrekfest), that's the only place I would care about any in-video credits as a low-to-mid tier patron.

Gotcha, early access def stays, and I'll keep Patron video participation and discord access a $1 perk! Wanna do another Patron vid collab soon. I got an idea ;)

I can't upgrade to a $10/mo role this year (we just bought tickets to Amsterdam!), but I can continue my $5/mo role. So long as I still have Discord access and Patron video participation as a perk, I'm good. And the early access stuff is great but if my $5 role loses this perk, I won't be completely heartbroken (although it IS nice).

OK cool! a few other people said the early release made them feel like they were part of a "special club" so I'll definitely keep it! And I can absolutely guarantee ANY changes made will make people drop payment, but that is a risk I am willing to take. Just looking towards the future! Pretty soon I'm going to have to write out 100 names at the end of every vid :P And as far as "exclusive content" applying to the $5 tier, yes that is exactly what I proposed, to swamp the two tiers

I actually really like early release. Also, switching the tiers might make people drop their payments. I’d say, if you do go that route, maybe make the “exclusive content” for the bigger role apply to the 5 dollar one as well?

yeah, sucks Patreon doesn't allow raffles... and yeah to be clear, $5 and $10 tiers would stay, I'd just be switching the rewards. you say no good?

I personally don't like the idea of changing the $5 tier you already made a lot of changes to it such as the raffle and the credits I think people might drop their patron role
