character design rough start (Vela)
Added 2018-11-17 14:31:09 +0000 UTCLil' different than what I usually show, but I thought it might be interesting to see! I'm at the very start of designing Vela, in the red and brown; body shape, face, all of it is still in its "default" starting point for my models (slightly outdated, I've since made adjustments to the standard/average body type for my characters, this is a bit slimmer than it should be).
Off to the right are two old, discarded/archived designs (named Ayase and Amelia, once upon a time). Sometimes I still like an old design, but the character themselves didn't work out; in this case, I've long since made a new Amelia - twice over, in fact - but I did kinda like the original's look. Ayase not so much, but I liked the overall "vibe" of her pose, and the both of them now are there to provide some inspiration in Vela's design!
What I'll end up with will be unique from the above, hopefully. But you might be able to see some of the influences in outfit, or pose, or little body type details. ^^
