TOMBSTONE - Full Length Reaction!

Here's the full length reaction to Tombstone! Kurt Russell and Val Kilmer are both incredible in this! Since No Country for Old Men was only a few votes behind in the poll, I'll watch that one later this month as well :) Enjoy!

TOMBSTONE - Full Length Reaction!

It helps understand the movie if you know this. The Earps did own brothels, and Wyatt is known for moral ambiguity in all the movies.

Speaking of Michael Rooker, who played McMasters in this movie and Yondu in the Guardians of the Galaxy film series, I also suggest Mississippi Burning (1988, with Gene Hackman & Willem Dafoe), Sea of Love (1989, with Al Pacino), Days of Thunder (1990, with Tom Cruise, produced by Don Simpson & Jerry Bruckheimer and directed by Tony Scott), the 1997 Director's Cut of JFK (1991, with Kevin Costner), Cliffhanger (1993, with Sylvester Stallone), Mallrats (1995, but watch Clerks (1994) first), The Replacement Killers (1998, with Chow Yun-fat & Mira Sorvino), The Bone Collector (1999, with Denzel Washington), The 6th Day (2000, with Arnold Schwarzenegger), and for Halloween, Slither (2006, directed by James Gunn). #MoreMichaelRookerForAddieCounts

Loved your reaction, as always Addie! Several people have pointed out members of the cast above. One member that had somehow flown under MY radar until THIS viewing was Tomas Arana, who played Frank Stillwell (the cowboy sent with Ike Clanton to 'finish' the Earps at the train station but took a scatter gun round to the chest). You've seen him at least once before: he played Quintus in Gladiator, General Maximus' second in command in germania, who would later order Maximus' execution.

David Bennett

That scene at the train station and Wyatt's little (!) speech is one of my favorite movie moments.

Heyyy, it's Addie's first western! Wooo Hooo, or should I say, "Yee haw!" lol Tombstone joins the list of The Princess Bride, Labyrinth (1986), and Die Hard as my favorite movies to quote. Wait, you haven't seen Labyrinth (for the channel) have you? hint hint One of my favorite scenes comes early on and it's easy to miss. We get the top 4 characters and then Behan joins them in the street. All of a sudden there's a gunshot and everybody flinches/reacts to it except Doc. The best scene has to be with Doc and Ringo in the saloon. Doc: "In vino veritas" (In wine there is truth) Ringo: "Age quod agis" (Do what you do) D : "Credat Judaeus Apella non ego" (Let the Jew Apella believe it, not I) R : "Eventus stultorum magister" (Experience is the teacher of fools.) D : "In pace requiescat" (Rest in peace) THEN we get the awesome gun twirling only to be outdone by the cup twirling. We get a bunch of Bill or Billy in this movie. "Curly Bill" Brosius the leader of the cowboys. Bill Paxton as Morgan. You recognized him. You didn't? hmmm (jk jk) Billy Bob Thornton plays the rude dealer that Wyatt smacks around. Billy Zane is the lead actor in the stage ensemble. Billy Breckinridge, the cowboy who wore glasses, was played by Jason Priestley. (I was expecting you to recognize him) Billy Clanton was played by Thomas Haden Church who goes on to play Sandman in the Spider-Man movies. There's a third Billy (Claiborne) in the cowboys. I don't think we heard his name because there were already two others. He's the one who recognized the juggler as the show started. He was played by Wyatt Earp III Since I brought up the Sandman, the cowboy who joined Wyatt, (McMasters) was played by Michael Rooker. Our one and only Yondu!! Curly Bill: "Well. Bye." Addie: "Okay. Rude." Only to be crushed by the brutal rudeness of Ringo's: "You smell that, Bill? Smells like someone died." I love using a gif of "Well. Bye." when conversations end with other people who say, "I've had enough of this." I hope you have a wonderful weekend!! Take care of yourself, Addie!! Nice to see Ollie at the very start!!

My favs are Josey Wales, Pale Rider, Young Guns 1 and 2 and Unforgiven!

One thing I absolutely hate about this movie is how after everything goes down everyone -including his brothers and in-laws- blames Wyatt, when he was the one who kept saying not to get involved and not to head down to the OK Corral in the first place. I still love this movie, though.

I second Twister (1996). That movie was awesome. I would also throw in Disney's Mighty Joe Young (1998). Addie is definitely gonna need tissues for that movie. #MoreBillPaxtonForAddieCounts

Happy Friday, Addie! 😊 RIP always to Bill Paxton, who played Morgan Earp! I love this movie so much. The cast is outstanding. Val Kilmer definitely should've gotten an Oscar nomination for his role as Doc Holiday. Really looking forward to watching this reaction later this evening. And I can't wait to watch your reaction to "No Country for Old Men" later in the month. For another movie telling the story of Wyatt Earp, I very highly recommend the 1994 Kevin Costner movie "Wyatt Earp". And for another great Bill Paxton movie, I very highly recommend the 1996 "Twister". I hope that you have a great day today & a great weekend! 😊

I’ve never seen Tombstone🪦 so I will be watching for the first time.

BTW, Hollywood Pictures (the studio that released this movie) was a production label for Disney to produce more adult oriented films, just like its sister label, Touchstone Pictures. Other HP movies that I would suggest to you are Crimson Tide (1995, directed by Tony Scott), Dangerous Minds (1995) and The Rock (1996, directed by Michael Bay), all produced by Don Simpson & Jerry Bruckheimer, as well as Encino Man (1992) & In The Army Now (1994), both with Pauly Shore. #MoreHollywoodPicturesFilmsForAddieCounts

Let's give Addie a round of applause for watching her VERY FIRST Western for her channel, although she did watch Back to the Future Part III (1990) which had Western elements. 👏👏 Happy Friday. I'm looking forward to watching Tombstone (1993) later this weekend, possibly as a pallette cleanse after watching The Nun II (2023) in Dolby Cinema with my girlfriend on Saturday.
