BRAVEHEART - Full Length Reaction!

Here's the full length reaction to Braveheart, our latest poll winner! Hacksaw Ridge was a close second (and was winning the poll for a while), so I will watch that movie next week as well! Enjoy!

BRAVEHEART - Full Length Reaction!

Romantic scene but then, “I have to sneeze but I don’t want to ruin this moment.” (sneeze) 😂 never hold it in, let it fly. “Oh, there’s still so many of them. AND they have the high ground!” 👏👏👏 The two moments I was waiting for the most were the pressed flower and of course, the Princess dropping that epic bomb. “A child who is not of your line grows in my belly.” Addie: “Is that going to be the last thing he hears before he dies?” I’ve watched other reactions and I knew other parts of the movie, I have to agree with you that because of the length of the movie it’s not something to watch again any time soon.

Her other most memorable Hollywood role probably being in the James Bond movie "The World Is Not Enough," of course (still hoping Addie eventually reacts to the rest of them 🙏).

Byrd N. Hand

Granted, sometimes such a disclaimer can have the opposite effect (see "Fargo"). 🤨

This is such a good movie. I didn't vote for it but I'm not sorry it won. After you start exploring foreign movies I'll recommend a few from Sophie Marceau, who played Princess Isabelle. She has a few decent Hollywood movies but her best work was in France.

I get this argument and it has been something I have really put a lot of thought into... can I love the art in spite of the artist? And I can as long as the art isn't representing what I don't like. I definitely respect people that can't do it but now I can separate the two.

On the bright side the movie never says in direct quotes "Based on a true story" so at least people going in to take everything being said and done with a grain of salt right? 😆

Yes incredibly inaccurate as we all know. That look you gave when someone said he was 7 feet tall is kinda funny because we don’t know how tall he actually was due to the fact he was hung, drawn and quartered as you saw at the end. Then parts of his body scattered. But some speculation is that he might have been around 6 foot 7 in a time when most people were around 5 feet. Which seems mad but given that his sword which is held in the Wallace monument in Stirling is 5 foot 4 he must have been pretty big to wield it efficiently. Just imagine going into battle and seeing a sword taller than you. 😦

This movie is so incredibly inaccurate--historically speaking--and Mel Gibson kind of sucks as a human being...but I'll be goddamned if this still isn't a great watch. Ah, well...art and stuff, right?

Addie, I'm going to recommend another best Mel Gibson movie out there. It's a true story called "We Were Soldiers" and Mel doing that movie inspired him to direct Hacksaw Ridge. We Were Soldiers is one of Mel Gibson best performances out there. This movie depicts the first battle to start Americas involvement in the Vietnam War, a true story based on a best selling book called "We Were Soldiers Once" that tells the story of this battle.

She's about to watch Hacksaw Ridge (2016) next week and Mel Gibson directed that movie.

Happy Friday, Addie! 😊 I'm really glad that this one won the poll. It's without a doubt one of my top favorite Mel Gibson films. Definitely looking forward to watching this later this evening. Another great Mel Gibson movie that I very highly recommend is the 1994 "Maverick". Have a great day today, and a great weekend! 😊

I still have the original VHS (2-casette) i bought when it first came out 😂 ...historical accuracy is irrelevant to me, its just a movie, and one of my faves.... I've seen it a million times and will probably see it a million more 👍

Here’s what I always say about the movie - Mel Gibson is a detestable human being. The movie is, to say the least, inaccurate in its history. And yet, I love it. It’s in my top five of favorite movies behind Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Titanic and JFK. Basically, the seeds that will bear fruit as both Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones can find roots here, I would argue. What else can I say? I look forward to enjoying the reaction.

My mom has a friend from work who's uncle is best friends with Randall Wallace, who wrote this movie. Speaking of him, (I don't care what anyone says) I also suggest Pearl Harbor (2001) with Ben Affleck. It's produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and directed by Michael Bay. I also suggest The Man in the Iron Mask (1998), We Were Soldiers (2002, also with Mel Gibson), Secretariat (2010) & Heaven Is for Real (2014), he directed all four movies. #MoreRandallWallaceForAddieCounts

Happy Friday, Addie. I just bought Braveheart (1995) on Blu-ray and I'm definitely watching this Oscar-winning movie tonight. I'm also looking forward to watching Hacksaw Ridge (2016) soon. It's also directed by Mel Gibson. Speaking of him, I also suggest the Mad Max & Lethal Weapon film series as well as Gallipoli (1981), Bird on a Wire (1990), Maverick (1994), Ransom (1996), Conspiracy Theory (1997), Payback (1999), The Patriot (2000), Chicken Run (2000), What Women Want (2000), We Were Soldiers (2002), The Passion of the Christ (2004), Apocalypto (2006, he directed both movies) and Father Stu (2022). #MoreMelGibsonForAddieCounts.
