MARCH Q&A!

Here's our Q&A for March! As the thumbnail suggests, Ollie does indeed make an appearance :) Enjoy!

MARCH Q&A!

There are also other holidays before Halloween. A war movie (preferably "Hacksaw Ridge") for Memorial Day seems like a good fit. And "Independence Day" for the 4th of July would be a no-brainer, as well as "Jaws." Plus, there are plenty of summertime-themed movies for her to watch over those summer months: "American Graffiti," "Dazed and Confused," "The Sandlot," "Speed," "Predator," "Stand by Me," "Top Secret!," "The Goonies" (yes, it technically takes place in the fall, but still has a summertime vibe to it), etc. Also, "Monty Python's Life of Brian" would make for a fairly ironic Easter reaction. 😏 And "Norma Rae" for Labor Day? As for Halloween, I'm hoping "Night of the Living Dead" (1968), "Dawn of the Dead" (1978) [should be a package deal with the former], "The Exorcist," "Young Frankenstein," "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" (1974), "Halloween" (1978), "The Thing" (1982), "Poltergeist" (also the 1982 version), and the next 2 Hannibal Lecter movies ("Red Dragon" and "Hannibal") are all on her list as well. For Christmas, there's "Miracle on 34th Street" (1947), "A Christmas Carol" (1951), "Scrooge" (1970), "Lethal Weapon," and "Scrooged." Of course there are also a few movies that would be appropriate for either Halloween *or* Christmas: "Black Christmas" (1974), "Gremlins," "The Nightmare Before Christmas," and "Edward Scissorhands" (though that would be a re-watch for her, as it's one of her 4 'lost' reactions from her channel's fledgling days -- the files for which she can apparently no longer find πŸ˜•).

Really, "Vacation," "Christmas Vacation," and "Animal House" are the only movies that have the 'National Lampoon' moniker attached to them that are any good... and I'm not sure how much younger people like yourself will be able to appreciate the latter, given that many elements in it would be considered fairly 'problematic' these days.

Always a treat to see Ollie!! Now we need to see/hear that bark of his. Pineapple on pizza people, unite!! I love ordering cheese toast with pineapple and sausage. As the first quarter of the year is over, we’re only half a year away from Halloween. This will be my suggestions for scary movies which I will continue to recommend as scary season gets closer. My top 3 scary movies are The Omen (1976) The Changeling (1980) Autopsy of Jane Doe (2016) As for Christmas, you’ve seen A Christmas Story, how about A Christmas Story Christmas to see how it continued. Klaus is also a very good movie (it instantly made my top 5) Thank you for your time Addie!!

...and yes, you did react to the theatrical cut of Jurassic World: Dominion (2022).

...and yes, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade did have young Indiana falling into the circus car filled with snakes, establishing his ophidiophobia (fear of snakes).

...and I got into Ben & Jerry's Phish Food Ice Cream after watching Aquamarine (2006).

Awwwww, Ollie! 😍 Thanks for giving him some screen time! I'm glad he's developing his "big boy bark." It's a good deterrent for potential baddies who don't know how friendly he is! Our neighbors once had a *huge* German shepherd who would lie in the front yard whenever the kids were playing there. The poor thing was quite old and didn't move very well, but of course strangers wouldn't know that. If someone she didn't know got too close, all she had to do was raise her head a few inches, pin back her ears, and start to growl. No one ever bothered those children! πŸ‘

I'm with you that pineapple is fine on pizza. It just works.

My girlfriend would choose to see Barbie (2023), given that it stars Margot Robbie and the wholesomely bright tone. I'm open to seeing it but my hype level between the two belongs to Oppenheimer (2023), given my high affinity for Christopher Nolan and IMAX.

Thanks for the abundance of content we have been getting! You are awesome!

Happy Tuesday, Addie. Thank you so much for answering my Q&A questions for this month. Whatever did not get answered I will rework it for next month. BTW, I have finally arrived in New York City. I'm gonna be on vacation there until Saturday night.
