SOLO - Full Length Reaction!

Here's the full length reaction to Solo! My dog Titus joined me towards the end of the movie because he was afraid of some storms that were moving in :( Enjoy!

The answer to how Darth Maul survived is in the animated shows like Rebels and The Clone Wars

In 1979-1980 there was a trilogy of novels written by Brian Daley called "The Han Solo Adventures". It told some of the stories of Solo before "A New Hope" and did a wonderful job with characterization and storybuilding. If Disney had used those (Legend) ideas as a blueprint and run with it the film would have been much better. Of course, that would have meant actually cutting Daley a little money, and the Mouse House can't do that now... Thank God for Dave Filoni saving what he could.

I think this movie is okay, like, a middle-of-the-road type of movie. There are definitely worse SW films (the prequels and sequels come to mind), in my opinion, but it’s fun to watch it every once in a while, as long as you don’t try to think too much about things.

Eh, Glover does little more than just impersonate Billy Dee Williams, IMO. The movie does basically just checks the boxes of the handful of things we already knew about Han's backstory, as well as focus on frivolous things (did we really need to establish that 'Solo' wasn't his true last name? Or why Lando pronounced his name like 'hand' without the 'd' instead of 'Hahn'?). Also, Tobias Beckett is the least Star Wars-sounding name ever.

I feel like the movie was unnecessary in a lot of ways, but Donald Glover as Lando was a standout. The movie would have been immensely improved by the right casting for Han, however. To me there was only one choice in mind, seen here. https://youtu.be/vwLv993khfI?t=17

I didn't really like this movie. It's fine. But I thought the earlier scenes in the Trenches seemed more interesting than the plot of the movie.

Happy Friday, Addie! 😊 This is a decent movie. A good backstory movie for Han Solo, and how he came to meet Chewbacca and Lando. That is Darth Maul. If you end up watching "The Clone Wars" series you'll find out how he survived his apparent death in "The Phantom Menace". The casting in this movie, in my opinion, is great. But there were a lot of products problems. They started out with directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller. And they were let go because of creative differences with the head of LucasFilm. And director Ron Howard ended up directing the remaining parts of the movie. Overall, it is a good movie. "Rogue One" is still the best Disney Star Wars movie so far. All you have left to catch up on Star Wars-wise are the sequel movies. And of course the remaining Star Wars shows. Have a great day and weekend! 😊
