Did this guy seriously start working on this without asking the customer for information about the problem and doing some simple tests to diagnose it for himself to be certain? How can he be "90% sure" that it was broken before he showed up? You can't allow people to pull things out of their ass like that. Sucks that he ended up being verbally abused and not paid for his time, but I'm going to have to say that this one is on him.
