Two Options, One Burned-Out Brain – Vote Time!

Hi everyone,
I started posting chapters in April of last year. For the first six months, I managed six chapters a week. After that, I dropped to five. Over the past year, I’ve written five and a half books—roughly a million words.

Let that number sink in for a second.

The only reason I’ve been able to keep up that pace is because I’ve had the entire story outlined from the start. Even so, turning three or four bullet points into a full chapter takes a lot of mental energy, and honestly, my brain’s starting to feel the strain. Writing this much every week isn’t just about putting words on a page—it’s about staying creative, consistent, and emotionally connected to the story. And that can be exhausting.

I could push through and maybe cut back on weekly chapters again, but I’d rather not burn out. So, I’m thinking of taking a vacation in May.

Now for the important part—there are two options:

Option 1: I keep posting, but only two chapters a week. After doing five a week, that would actually feel like a vacation.
Option 2: I pause billing for May and take a full break. No posts, just rest. I’ll come back in June, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed.

Please vote in the comments and let me know which option you prefer!

I might combine both 1 and 2 it's very common for writers to post twice a week and everyone needs a vacation

I have seen writers loose there momentum and their stories stop completely after just planning a ‘one month break’ so I think you should do option one. If you want to take option two then I think you should still write two chapters a week and just hold them in reserve so you can ramp up slower in June and still hit your weekly chapter plan.
