THE END OF THE MUSEUM

As many of you probably know by now, my YouTube channel was unexpectedly taken down on Monday over violating the community guidelines around sexual content.
I suspect this was because of the Anniversary Night chapter of My Inner Life, although the policy is only against content of a sexual nature that is "for the purposes of sexual gratification", so if you were able to achieve "sexual gratification" despite the bad writing, my silly voices, and the constant splicing-in of clips from The Room and old bottled water commercials, you have some very specific kinks.  I think if any reasonable person actually watched the video, they would agree that it was clearly not intended to be "sexually gratifying".  I have also uploaded readings of equally-explicit and far more problematically-written sex scenes in the past with no blowback of any kind
The deletion also happened within hours of me uploading (to private mode, planning to go public on Saturday) the next video in the True Wonder! series, but this video had no sexual content of any kind.  I don't see how this could have flagged the algorithm, but the timing lines up, and the situation still feels unreasonable enough that I can't discount the possibility.
I have filed multiple appeals with YouTube and done everything in my power to revoke the deletion of the channel, but to no avail.  Anyone who has dealt with the YouTube appeals system will tell you that the whole thing is a Kafkaesque nightmare of bureaucracy, and like Joseph K., I'm still not entirely sure what my crime was.
I have also asked if the channel could be restored and the offending content deleted, but they don't do that, because then they'd have to actually watch through my videos before burning it all down.  Thus far, I have no reason to believe that any of the three appeals I filed were ever seriously looked at by a human being, but Team YouTube on Twitter assures me that the decision is nonetheless final.
So this is the end.  I've looked at a few other video-hosting sites but none of them are built for the kind of community engagement and channel growth that YouTube does.  There isn't any real competition, unfortunately, so I can't simply take my business elsewhere.
I do still have my two side channels, Mutant Museum Gift Shop and Sherman Fangsworth.  I will be gradually reuploading a few of my old videos to the former channel, and I may even post some new content sporadically (that True Wonder! video mentioned above will, hopefully, see the light of day eventually), but this will almost certainly be the end of my work as a content creator or trying to grow the channel in any way.  I will not be re-uploading any of the My Inner Life videos or anything else of a remotely sexual nature, just to be safe, although if I can find an alternative video-hosting site, they may go up there.  Still, it's doubtful I'll be completing the series at this point.  Therefore, I will be closing this Patreon down in the next few days.
If you are interested in MP4 files of the My Inner Life videos just for nostalgia's sake or something, reach out to me (@mutantmuseum on Twitter) and I'll try to send you a Google Drive link or something.
As you can imagine, this wasn't how I wanted things to go.  I had a lot of plans for the channel over the next few months, including an Eye of Argon remake, but it will take a miracle to get my creative drive back or for any of the work to feel worth it when YouTube bureaucracy can burn it all down with no warning on a whim.  I want to say thank you to everyone who has reached out to me over the last few days with best wishes.  Even if this is the end, I'm glad to have brought joy to your lives as long as I could.
I'm sorry it had to end like this.
