It's not so much that he's underrated but that the company didn't allow him to do anything. They refused to give him the collabs that got requested, they wouldn't let him put out his own music (until just before the military) and all his solo songs were usually part of the BTS albums. Never his own. It's sad.

2024-11-15 21:19:29 +0000 UTCHonestly I think he can release music pretty freely. I think V is very selective, and wants a specific thing out of his different projects. Or should I say, he wants to accomplish different things, such as themes, styles, characters, etc.... I mean this is just my opinion, but so far that is the vibe I get from Tae. In a way I think it just makes everything he does do that much more exciting or special. I kinda feel that way about all of BTS if I stop and think about it. Because my guess is they could do so much more if they really wanted too. As you said, maybe if they just let others write the melodies, or even the songs themselves, they could all just add their incredible and uniquely distinct artistry to it. But they don't, they have a way that they want to do their craft and express themselves, and they do it, insanely well, all of them. But again, if you think about it to the stand point you were saying, I think that just makes me appreciate everything they do do, even more, and it just makes it all that much more meaningful and incredibly special! πππ Just a thought.

Like you I can't wait to hear what's come next (a new song/collab with UMI will be released on the 30th so stay tuned π) Christmas Tree is an OST for the Korean television series Our Beloved Summer (the mv is made with scenes from this drama - a very good one if you are interested watching)

2023-12-26 15:50:13 +0000 UTCSince they were able to release solo work this last year my hope is when he returns from his military service mid 2025 he'll continue to do so while they resume group activities. He had been working on his album for several years but he ended up putting it on the back burner. For his first album he instead chose to receive songs written by others, which of course there's nothing wrong with. But I hope he releases his original music because there sure are a lot of us who will wholeheartedly love and support it. π π
