BJ is just too afraid to feel and to lose again (and to suffer because of that).
This character is so broken, both Kiriko and BJ are. But they fight their demons in similar yet different ways. ;A; I love them. A perfect, doomed pairing. <3

I had fun with this flashback because it's all from BJ's POV, so I hope it's understandable why Kiri is so evident in the scenes and why the only thoughts we read are BJ's. :3
Osamu Tezuka sensei's works always influenced me in my growth as a person and artist, I owe him a lot. <3 I suggest you to read Tetswan Atom, Black Jack, MW, Budda. To tell the truth, everything he did is a masterpiece, and his life was a constant fight because of his fragile health. He continued to draw even on his death bed, and he died too early! An hero with so much to tell, and he still does! <3
