Alright real talk. I actually learned a lot about vtubing from a goofy anine. Its called Vtube Legend: how i went viral when i forgot to turn off my stream before bed. Its about this gjrl whos like a full on princess mode but she got hammered drunk with cams still on and went viral af. Its a cute little sneak peak into vtube culture, the concerts dorkii spoke of. And i laughed my ass off. Im not a subtitle snob but i truly feel the japanese actors let it alll hang out on that performance. Big burst audio etc. The dubbed version was too subtle for me after seeing it in original format. Its on crunchyoll streaming

My hitch with Vtubers is that that whole universe of cartoon/anime is so sex-centric. If you disagree you’re just coping honestly. Obviously not every anime or vtube fan is little freak, but there’s a reason that the most popular Vtubers are females with big knockers. It’s so off putting to me to even associate with that entire group of content and people

trajand

Vtuber phenomenon is that cute anime girls talk to you

The Kroni bgm on dorkis guides weren’t just a coincidence then huh

Dratty my boy I’m a CPT and fellow wow nerd, lemme make some splits for you for free. Full body sessions regularly isn’t good for you long term. Dm me!!

I think Youtube being skill-based is the most 5-head topic this pod has had coming out of it. The pinnacle medium I can compare it to is music, and Spotify exposing listening metrics is something I always pay attention to, and it's pretty fascinating. There's no doubt that exposure is a gamechanger in music, and in a way bigger way than on YT. If some piece of a somewhat niche artist (like Aphex Twin) was featured in the mass media at some point (like a movie or a tv show), it will have 30x listens compared to their other, often much better pieces, without exception. At the same time, even over-exposed piece might not get much traction, if it cannot be attributed properly. A huge example here would be the background music featured in a Techno Viking video, which has been huge for decades probably. The original piece of "Can-D-Music - Navigator" was largely unknown to the public and had sub 10k listens on Spotify for years, but at the same time, has seen a geometric organic growth recently with 1M+ listens by now. So to summize, I think luck (exposure in mass media, etc) is a huge factor for media, but also there's verifiable evidence that the quality of content dictates the factor of growth. The corny thing is that even if you have x30 growth factor, if your baseline medium/environment is 0.01, you aren't getting too far. I think YouTube is somewhat special in this sense (especially around gaming) that it's a new medium and pretty much eveyone has a 1 as baseline, while it's more complicated in other environments.

I never expected Dorki to be a hoshiyomi.

The only saving grace of shamans was that we'd have to pay gold to re gem/enchant a third time in a week, as well as already having spent a catalyst charge. If it wasn't for that I doubt the nerfs would've been reverted because there wasn't any other good way to explain why the nerfs were bad other than crying about the numbers going down.
