Coming Soon: The Described Wrestling Project
Added 2024-01-22 15:49:30 +0000 UTCFinally, wrestling that's relaxing to take in.
I'm a big consumer of online relaxation content, an enjoyer of folks who make things that are specifically made to be low mental impact, low stress, easy listening that's good to fall asleep to. For a while, I've been thinking of ways to contribute to this blooming subgenre of entertainment for the sleepy (or, like me, just desperately need to get some sleep every once in a while), and now I think I have it.
Coming this week, you're going to be seeing (well, hearing) the first entries in a series of videos and audio releases I'm calling the Described Wrestling Project, where I, in a relaxing tone of voice, with a faint, immersive soundscape, describe professional wrestling, match by match: the good, the bad, and the infamous. Now, you don't have to suppress your squeamishness to watch ECW, you can just hear me describe Sandman caning the shit out of whoever's in his drunken sights this week; you don't have to know a guy to get you tapes of old Japanese wrestling, because you've got me to tell you about what's on those tapes. Spoiler alert: it's Bull Nakano, and she's destroying smaller women. Again.
My plan is to start small, doing a these as audio first, to post here. Once I've got an hour or so, I'll make a video compilation with a simple background screen- something that's streaming friendly over youtube, that won't run up your data if you happen to fall asleep to it off wifi. If things go as they should, I should have that inside of February, but up until that point? Expect periodic small updates from this project, as well as more Section 99 writing and other videos.
