Mourning now. Later, grim resolve to do more.
Demeter had to leave us last night. Until her very last, she loved us and trusted us enough to tell us what she was feeling, and she told us she needed to go last night. Right before she let go and was overcome by the thing that was eating her. We took her to the vet, kept her warm, and gave her the passage to her next world she deserved. I'm broken up right now. But I don't think I'll be so tomorrow. I just need to keep reminding myself that we're all nomads, pushing ever onwards through the worlds beyond this one, a journey that doesn't end, just enriches everyone that takes it. We might meet again, but we know how to reach each other, because she lives in memory, and I feel that where she is now, she has the same for Adrienne and I.
I learned things, from this cat. She had magic in her. I will not waste what she gave me in her life. I will honor our friend.
