Flooded Metropolis
Added 2020-01-24 20:08:02 +0000 UTC neighboring city, December City were never a strategic target for nuclear annihilation. The whole region were still flooded by sudden flash flood due to broken dam a few hundred kilometers to the south, which allowed the Waffenfrude Sea to pour into the lowlands and devastated the area, killing nearly more than a dozen million people in one fell swoop.
Several nuclear detonations also occured high up in the atmosphere as local strategic missile defense had successfully intercepted some nuclear missiles. Unfortunately, the nuclear explosions are too close to the space elevator which caused some vital cables to snap and broke free. The remaining cables are still holding on but under immeasurable amount of pressure, it won't long until the entire thing falls apart if left unchecked.
Its been more than three centuries since the Calamity and no man ever stepped foot on this forsaken city. An unknown rogue artificial intelligence have took control of vast amount of unmanned war machines under one corrupted directive, to punish and eradicate mankind of what they have done to this world as they are the one responsible for allowing the doomsday clock to reach midnight.
