This was a video request sent in by Quackimjaq! In this video I briefly go over what inspired each and every song on Villains. Sorry if the audio quality is a little off - I'm not sure if my vlogging camera is playing up. I hope you enjoy hearing some of these stories (in no way is any of it supposed to be tea, haha) and that you enjoy this video!

2020-10-24 13:20:33 +0000 UTCI remember being so bothered by the hamster disrespect situation, I'm genuinely very wary of people who don't think small creatures are as important as other animals or lives. Pets are a part of the family no matter what size they are and you were allowed to grieve and feel fully. I'm glad that the encounter inspired you to make some amazing songs though (I freaking love Burn the Witch).

2020-07-18 17:33:31 +0000 UTCIt's so interesting to me that you talk about Villains Pt 2 as a sad conclusion to the album because even though it has those themes I always looked it as this extremely powerful conclusion to an album worth of self growth. Starting with villains, a song that refers to a list of people who made you this 'monster' and concluding with a song that is about self reflection of ones own destructive behaviour and owning that. I've talked about this on twitter before but the entire journey that the album takes you on so so powerful and just pure art. The only other artist that i've ever seen pull off a body of work that does this so well is Taylor Swift. Villains Pt. 2 is one of my favourite songs ever. I honestly will never stop talking about it lol. Villains is an iconic album and will forever be etched into my psyche. This video was so awesome to hear.

Also thought you had said that burn the witch was about your past self? I think I mixed up what you said about icarus with this haha. This was a cool video :)
