I am a lover of knowledge and learning, and I believe in an educated and literate society. But after observing the use of public schools for shaping younger generations politically, and the failure in providing educational fundamentals, I really think we need to replace public schools with "no strings attached" school vouchers. Will it be abused? Of course. Will there be unintended negative outcomes? Certainly. But it also creates an opportunity for a return to education, instead of the public school's current focus, indoctrination from an early age. Maybe after a generation of school choice more people would understand how dangerous TikTok and other Chinese psy-op/intelligence activities are. Social media is shaping our society, and whoever controls social media will have a profound influence on events. I see every dystopian sci-fi novel I ever read as a young man coming true before my eyes. Depressing and scary. And to think I played a role in making this technology available. What I was once proud of now makes me ashamed.
