I know people who are aware of it, openly happy about the death toll the synthetic drug crisis is causing in the US, and who view it as revenge for... take a deep breath... the opium wars. Leaving aside the fact that the opium wars were not a US thing, this provides interesting insight into the ways in which the CCP's "never let the past pass" propaganda successfully invades people's psychology.
