August 2021 Monthly Letter

Greetings to the China Uncensored 50 Cent Army! It’s been a wild time! YouTube has been cracking down particularly hard. We’ve had some great performing videos throttled with age-restriction, and if you saw, on America Uncovered, we had a video completely removed! Luckily after making a big stink about it on social media, YouTube was like, “Oops! We made a mistake. Your video doesn’t violate our Community Guidelines.” And on Instagram, I posted an official photo of the China-Taliban meeting which got completely removed as well. I think we’re on the cusp of another big social media crackdown.

So on that note, we’ve been looking into backup plans. As many of you know, we do have our own website where all of our episodes are uploaded on our own player. But we’re also looking into Locals. We spoke to the CEO and they’re very interested in getting us on their platform. They make a point of being free of censorship, so there’s definitely an appeal to that. Let us know what you think of that idea. I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Other big news—we are getting very close to launching a merchandise store! It’s been incredibly difficult as you know finding a vendor that doesn’t source from China and that won’t censor us, but we’re getting very close. I’ll make a big announcement when the store is up!

And speaking of made in China, we’re thinking of launching a new show entirely focused on helping people find alternatives to made in China goods and products. Decoupling with China is a necessary step we need to take in order to defeat the Chinese Communist Party and being able to find things not made in China is pretty important. So stay tuned for updates on that!

Shelley also recently bought herself a Nintendo Switch, so I’m hoping she’ll let me play. That way we can start a gaming channel. Hopefully if we talk about news and politics during a Let’s Play, we can get around YouTube censorship.

And on a personal note, earlier this week I heard the sound of crying coming from right outside my apartment window and when I went outside, I found a 4 week old abandoned kitten! Currently nursing it back to health, which is going fairly well. And no, I will not name her Chairman Meow.
