2020-05-20 06:32:40 +0000 UTCi'm saying it here since i haven't heard it said anywhere else: i'm speaking as someone who worked with bacterial agents in a BSL lab. we talk about WIV being a BSL4 lab. But a Coronavirus would typically be handled as a BSL2 agent from my understanding. BSL4 showers suits in hydrogen peroxide at the end of a work day then disposes of medical waste in an on site incinerator (in most cases). BSL2 requires a tyvec suit with <95 surgical mask, and face shield. BSL2 waste is disposed of as standard medical waste. if anyone is interested it may only take a few minutes to research whether WIV's local police guidance allowed for treating "novel" Coronaviruses other than MERS as BSL2-BSL3 agents.
