This thought just occurred to me as I was procrastinating going to the gym. Okay so we owe a shit ton of money, right? What if China takes all the money we pay them and puts it in a vault. Later when they're ready to make big moves, just before going on the offensive they literally flood the market with the money from the vault, crashing the value of our currency. This would have the double effect of paralyzing the US, while at the same time advancing the first steps of whatever long term plan they have to eclipse the US as the world's leader. So it's like the US loses twice. We would be the first country to literally pay the party which overthrows us. With 22, 23, or however much Trillion dollars we owe (that is twenty two followed by twelve zeros, > 22 x 10^12 or $22,000,000,000,000+ to put it in perspective.) How much damage could that do to our economy?
