Understand that Vietnam plays quite a strategic role in the region. And the country has been a battle ground of the 2 super power : USA and China. Nowadays, the battle to gain influence over this country still continues. For China, it is very obvious that they heavily influence politics of Vietnam from the very top tier leaders. We got our economy cornered and dependent heavily on China. Vietnam follows what China is doing in terms of litmiting human rights , imprisoning those who got opposition view and all that. What do you guys think USA is going to do to counter this? Are they going to sit and watch? Understand some of leaders in Vietnam are in favor of USA's view but they are on the losing side and being purged one by one.
