I’m a gutair nerd yay! Just learned the f lydia. Going to the g mix and your fretboard viz video is helping a ton

Hey David, welcome to our community! Bernth made structured 30-day practice plans for any technique - full courses just for the Patreon community! :) You can find them by clicking on 'Collections' and 'Patreon Online Courses'. Here's the link to his Alternate Picking Masterclass for example (you can always find the link to the full course in the post): https://www.patreon.com/posts/204-how-to-build-59575511 Hope this helps Team Bernth

Bernd Brodträger

As a new member and relatively new to guitar it would be good to have a structured learning path - ie that would replicate f2f lessons. Finding it hard to navigate the site as well - the blog format is clunky rather than having a menu. Maybe I’ve missed something

David Bull

In my mind whatever Bernth shares, gives us a nice field of self-improvement. If we dont do anything else, just go through on the last 300+ lessons, we will be awesome guitarist :D :D :D As the "teaching how to play guitar" part is strong like hell (and the best on the net I feel), I would love to somehow build a stronger community... Connect people on the same interest, finding different fields and do community building online events with the lead of Bernth... maybe... Back to teaching, I would love (and vote too) to have a video series (so not just one lesson) on how to build a nice guitar solo in different genres within guitar music. With a nice and simple background riff representing the genre, and a working method of Bernth as an example how to approach to a solo. These solos should be on an upper-amateur - intermediate level to give anyone a chance to get a benefit learning the "how to" and also playing the music piece.

Balázs Takács

Hey! Thanks a lot!

Bozhidar

Definitely would find helpful

Robert

Hey, Bernth. I love your technique videos, but I would love a deeper look at biomechanics, especially in terms of positioning the guitar in relation to one’s body (height of strap, slant of the neck upwards, angle of guitar facing outwards, etc.) and how to shred even at lower frets (for example, should I swing my arm out or change the angle of my hand?) Also, would you discuss good practice habits/mindsets? For example, is it better to play perfectly while playing slowly and then speed it up or to keep the speed as fast as possible and try to adjust to it? Should I focus on just one aspect to improve on or should I try to do everything at once? Etc., etc. You are amazing; thank you so much for everything (teaching guitar technique, making awesome music, giving life lessons, etc.) even if you’re too busy to make content about my suggestions. I will keep you in my prayers.

Thomas

Thank you!

Paul Doyle

I second the “monthly video challenges in VIP group” (weekly would be difficult to sustain IMHO)

As a new member, I am still exploring all of the content on here so I really don't have anything to offer except Thank you! Your are an amazing, talented musician and I love your music.

I will be sad to see the Live Streams go away. I believe the issue was not a lack of interest in the live streams but inconsistency in when they occurred. I pay more attention than most probably do, and even with my close attention, there were streams that I almost missed due to not knowing they were about to occur. I think if it were possible to ALWAYS have them on a set day and time, for example, "The Second Saturday Evening of Each Month at XX:XX PM," so that everyone always knew when it was and could plan for it, it would be a lot more attended and successful. It would also be more successful if that routine rotated each month to morning or evening so different time zones could at least participate every other month, for example, "Every Second Saturday Evening of Each 'Odd' Month and Every Second Saturday Morning of Each 'Even' Month." It would also be cool to open the Live Stream to VIP members but let the Platinum Members get their questions answered first. It would be cool if Platinum Members got early access to YouTube videos. It would also be cool if Platinum Members got even earlier access to things like Shred Pedal ordering, etc.

Mark Sanders

A video and tab on the caprice no. 24 that you did would be really cool!

Paul Doyle

some guest lectures would be great

Aditya Kumawat

I have RSI in my right hand. More legato, please. More chords and progressions particularly in the Post-Rock/Ambient style would be great.

Edward Knutson

I wish I knew how! That is something I aspire to build up too, or even able to play freely. I am at a wall I am trying to break through and have not found what will do it for me yet.

Joseph Valenti

Would love to see some famous rock tabs review from your side

Ig kk

Do you do any song writing? I feel like that would be a great next step if you aren't already writing your own tunes!

Luke Wiebolt

I am a noob, I started playing guitar for a few reasons, but your Channel is what pushed me to go buy a guitar and actually pursue and play. (I think there a few of us on here based on post I have read) April will make 1 year I have been apart of this group. I feel I have learned so much in that time span, and my friends who will listen to me play are generally impressed (they do not play, this is not super hard) . I feel like I am hitting a wall, while I know everything I work on still needs to be cleaned up. What I think would be awesome would be ways for people like me who can now pay act a decent tempo, ways to break free and out of the lessons or songs we learn and remember to just play. This is legit my biggest struggle. I wonder if anyone else feels the same.

Joseph Valenti

Would love to see more music theory lessons - Thank you Bernth!

Bozhidar

Would love to see video on taking a licks and moving around the neck breaking the lick up and changing the key.

Chasing Latitudes

Greetings from Chicago and Happy New Year Bernth! Another vote for Hybrid Picking here 👋

Mace

HI Bernth, I would like to learn how to improvise better :}

Lukasz Laskowski

Are you open to sharing anything about wrist, elbow, shoulder, and neck care? With how much you play guitar, and for how long, I assume you have some process for caring for your upper body to avoid RSI issues. Thank you!!

Austin J. Somaduroff

I'd love to play some of your own solos/pieces like kindling if that hasn't been done. Let's make the most kf 2024🎶🎸

Leon Sunu

It will be great to have a pathway of Solos organized from easy to more complex that we can learn for improving our skills by making real music and feeling successful step by step

David Martinez

I'd love to see some more chord and progression education/workouts. Beginner stuff to grasp different styles and ideas of metal/prog metal.

Robert

I have trouble streaching my fingers that makes it impossible for me to do some of your exercises. Can you put together a lesson on how to improve my (our) streach. Thanks for a great channel!!!

Andy Marshall

Please keep the tips coming in the intro to the workout videos, such as not locking the first finger in legato, which is not obvious to a beginner like me. Also, please suggest the best fret hand finger usage in portions of the exercise where both fingers 2 & 3 would work - but using a particular finger must be more efficient than the other. I find that I have to choose when stretching to play notes on the same string & it would be nice not to get into bad habits because of a less than ideal finger choice early on. Thanks!

James Johnston

Maybe some beginner solo stuff. Don't know if that has been done yet

LowFrequencyOxidizer

Thank you so much for all you do! I would like to see full practice plans going from beginner to advanced level with defined proficiency goals in order to advance to the next level(s). Monthly/weekly video Challenges in the VIP group with feedback on areas for improvement. More videos on effects pedals and the use of effects generally. Lessons on the use of guitar pro.

John Bowlin

Yea I agree with Bermd Groters, it would be amazing to see some hybrid picking lessons, and also if I could add, maybe techniques to spice up playing like well placed harmonics in a solo, crazy whammy bar bar tricks, and one of my favorites, which i dont know the name of at all but i hear it alot and it sounds amazing (shown in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ayTGEjm_Dkg 2 minutes and 34 seconds into the video), and maybe lessons on chugging and djent would be amazing too. Thanks for what you do bernth trying to make not just me a better absolute shred machine virtuoso, but also to make thousands enjoy this 6 string instrument called a guitar.

Michael

a chord course from beginner to advanced

jaz

A lesson that teaches a variation on how to play the fast part in helloween im alive solo. Also fast as a shark by accept. Been working on both these songs for the last 25 years!!!! Would love to see a bernth variation on these that can help me meet my goal for these two songs. Thanks.

Darkboar

Musiktheorie wäre super. Mal ein in depth Video zu den verschiedenen Scalen und modes für absolute Beginner. How to start im Prinzip. Sehe oft wie du über verschiedene Scalen in deinen Videos redest, aber verstehe da nur Bahnhof 😅

Zar Ede

I would like to see more workouts fitting to different styles of metal. What are the favourite chords/riffs/... for powermetal, blackmetal, deathmetal and so on. greetz

Andreas Wolf

I second this

Jaycee Bales

How about some focus on hybrid-picking? I'd love to see some hybrid-picking licks, tips&tricks! Maybe some workshops to built up the ability to use your guitar pick and fingers of your right hand? Keep up the good work, I think all of us appreciate your hard work very much! Love your channel! Greetings from the lower rhine side. 😊🎸

Hmm I think it would interesting to see a progressive guitar workout if it hasn’t been done yet. Here’s to a successful 2024 for all of us!!🎸🤘
