#278 - Finger Strength Legato Workout

My friends, you voted for a legato workout with a special focus on building/maintaining finger strength! So I came up with this cool and practical workout based on the B minor scale :)

Here are your practice filesfor this week (tabs, guitar pro, backing tracks, play-along video): https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1OCoHZjrKfDNDxVa52BekHktNGzjeH8E5?usp=sharing

In case you didn't work much on legato yet, I recommend going through the 30-day coursebefore that: https://www.patreon.com/posts/184-ultimate-30-54171102

And as always, here's a Dropbox link for you in case Google Drive doesn't work: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/ikyn9rxvbmuq6za01l07o/h?dl=0&rlkey=apulbnfd2xjnje62wnva09eha

I like these exercises, , but I tend to just zone out and my adhd messes it all up and I get bored trying to learn complex patterns , so then I move on, shame that they are not broken down in to less daunting reels of tab , guess that's a me problem, so not a moan just find it tough to focus on them, guess that the benefit of real one to one lessons, vs a video of someone playing and not being there to guide you

Bernth: Do i move my thumb only behind the middle finger in general or also behind the string I am currently playing (e.g. directly behind the B-String or the G string when I am moving to those strings)? Thanks

Jonny

Hey all, First off, Bernth, this was am AMAZING follow up to the 30 day legato! I found a lot of my endurance in my sweeps were directly tied to this technique. Now I I can comfortably and with waaaaaaaay less tension perform sweeps at 140bpm ( still working on it ). __ However, I wanted to piggy back off this topic to see if anyone knows if there is a lesson on the bending arp sequence aka the mighty "boomer bends" ( quoting Sire Henson here lol ) Specifically this general pattern: E---------------10-------- B------------10-----13p10 G---12b.u.+1-------------- D------------------‐------- A------------------‐------- E------------------‐------- **B.U. +1 = bend up 1 whole step & p = pull off** I'm trying to develop a healthy technique and strengthen my hands as well. Thanks in advance! Stay Creative Everyone

Great input, thanks Brandon! I added one in both folders :)

Thank you! Great lesson. I noticed that there are not PDF tab files attached to the lessons. Is this something you are choosing to move away from? No judgments, I really appreciate all you are doing.
