#269 - Selective Picking Workout

My friends, today I have something special for you - let's work on a new technique: selective picking! Since I'm currently waiting to see how the VIP/Gold/Platinum member lesson voting turns out, I'd like to show you the riff I'm currently practicing :)

Here are your practice files for this video (tabs, guitar pro, backing tracks, play-along video): https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1rmCkGP4oYL2yzAmNdqr_kL6YNp3eJHyU?usp=sharing

And here's a Dropbox folder in case Google Drive doesn't work for you: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/4nhvukh0ydgd9fqk49bkl/h?dl=0&rlkey=k65bry7gakqpl9sp3mr2njvw3

Have fun practicing and don't forget to post your progress in the VIP group :)

we need more selective picking

As a teen I loved George Lynch, so for awhile I tried his fanned picking; horrible for me. Saw PG's Intense Rock 1 video. I was 19. I copied Paul's right hand and never really stopped. Closed hand til next life.

I can tell this is going to help me a lot but how do I know which notes to pick?

Man this one is hard but I can tell is going to be VERY beneficial. Your technique and hand position, finger strength, and dynamics need to be almost perfect to play this correctly. I'll be working on this one alot. Thanks Bernth for another great workout.

Oh well, you like keeping us on our toes, don't you : )

oh wow !!! at 60 bpm we don't no were we going whit it but a 110 that really good. Ok we gonna try it. thanks Bernth

Sylvain Huard

Cooool! At 60bpm you can clearly hear the shifting required for the legato parts, at 100bpm you have a great feeling of the whole thing but at 110bpm that run is absolutely awesome!

That is great, looking forward to the whole piece being postedπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Not going to lie, that full on gave me chills. Definitely going to start practicing this now.
