Nice workout currently at 160 bpm (6.6).

Janik Rug

Just started working this after going hard at the earlier rhythm lessons. This reminds me of Totenkult - Exegesis Of Deterioration by Belphegor

Tomas Tomasovich

210 04.06. sweaty session :D

Yannick Häke

01.06. 190

Yannick Häke

No worries, you will complete the challenge for sure if you work on it in your daily routine :)

Bernd Brodträger

Is it good that I'm only at 80BPM? My hands seem to be getting a miscommunication at 100

David Roecker

180 31.05.

Yannick Häke

5-29-22. Second day attempting this, starting losing it around 170 bpm

Austin Wells

This is a really nice rhythm around 110bpm I thought I could hang in there but sadly at 120bpm it was all over... Tomorrow is another day.

Raymond Ho

29 / 5 / 22 up to 210 bpm 190 it gets crazy , started a go at the hig speed one and failed at 190 , put it down to 75% and played through , then sped it up played through sloppy after 190 but timing isnt bad and constantly picking and relaxed , started again at 60 and played to 160 now im buggered hahaha

jaz

I got to 190bpm before my wrist started to burn. I'm almost there. 5/25

jacob ruttinger

I got up to 110 BPM before I hit the burner..lol.....Good stuff!! The more run through it the easier it gets. Repetition rules!!!!

Marlon Haynes

25/5 22 played through to 210 the timing was kind of there but it was sloppy and couldnt hear the percussive muting , not bloody bad for about 2 and a half years on the instrument and 1 of those with bernth

jaz

thanks for this amazing workout, glade i joined your patreon webside

Gerhard Kucera

yes it is. I download the guitarpro files from Bernth and like to always try the exercises with an upstroke to work on it. For this example, it's not as fast and less natural to start with an upstroke as much as possible. failed at 170. but for the downstroke, which this exercise is for, is much more fluid. failed at 190 today.

Rylie Franco

I was so close to doing this first try, I started to fail around 170bpm, I'm gonna go for 190bpm today.

jacob ruttinger

i have never even thought of up picking , is this possible ?

jaz

You got this João!! :) Yes, I mostly use the Neural DSP plugins for the videos and the noise gate helps a bit when you're using more gain :)

Bernd Brodträger

Thank you so much Steve! I usually come up with the idea in the morning and work on it a bit (to get it ready for recording), and then make the video during the day :)

Bernd Brodträger

22/5 170 , 23/5 180 24/5 200 all working up from 40 bpm needs alot of work but am still learning this instrument , also not a down picker so this is sick im so glad i been playing some metallica the last couple months

jaz

tried exercise today. once memorization kicked in, not bad. started failing at the 180 mark. gonna try with upstrokes next time.

Rylie Franco

Love that shirt

Dakota Winston

This is one of my favorite vids! Would love more awesome riffs which I can add to my rhythm exercises!

Amit Elisha

This is crazy fun!!! My fingers were like yooooo!!!!! Im loving this brotha!!

Marlon Haynes

How long does it take you to get up to that speed, and how long does it take to get the idea and implement it before filming, I have this image you pick up the guitar and it just comes flowing out, it probably does, clutching at straws hoping it takes you at least a couple of hours, for my own sanity, cheers again for another great lesson.

Steve Shaw

playing at 210 bpm so tight like Bernth, is it possible to learn such power? do you know some noise gate in your chain? I stop at 190 but very sloppy

João Kamradt

My downpicking is absolutely horrible, haha. Is this exercise meant to be played with strictly downstrokes at all tempos? *sweating nervously*

Robert Bjärmyr

This is just so much fun - Bernth again making this the most value-for-money, cool, inspiring Patreon guitar community there is... 😎🎸🔥🤟

Ivan V.

160 bpm 21/5 22

jaz

good shit man, mean exercise

Darwin Lambourne

Really awesome video and fun to play. Will work on this after I fix my pick hand position 🙂

LowFrequencyOxidizer

love it

Dmitriy Chumichev

....and here is the field of real rythm players :D finally i could enjoy 160+ bpm :D The first excercise that I could almost play through with you Bernt :D :D :D ...almost.. :D

Balázs Takács

IMO: the best reason to practice down picking: to strengthen one’s alternate picking.

Michael Koontz

This is great! I definitely need to improve my down picking.
